Our stay at the Portland Best Western Pony Soldier Inn was enjoyable: the staff were personable and courteous; the room was spacious, sparkling clean, attractively appointed, with high quality bedding and thick towels; the entire facility was well-maintained and security -conscious (the doors to the lobby are locked in the evening); even the art on the walls (photographic prints) was a pleasant surprise. And the complimentary breakfast served in the cute little dining room was outstanding - with many options (biscuits and gravy! Waffles! Eggs, sausage links, cold/hot cereals! A plethora of juices, teas, etc!) and friendly staff replenishing platters and bowls as soon as they emptied. The pool and hot tub area, located in an enclosed inner courtyard, was pristine and absolutely beautiful, the concrete dotted with tubs of bright petunias and lush greenery. Staying here was an absolute pleasure!

Great hotel for the price, I love the option of free breakfast and airport shuttle! The location isn't the best, but the lobby door is key locked to keep the trouble outside. Use caution if you plan to go out at night (a bit sketchy with the homelessness problem in Portland, but that's kind of something you deal with everywhere here). The room was very clean and comfortable and even came with a microwave, mini fridge, and tiny coffee/tea maker! Breakfast was pretty standard - yogurts, juices, fruit, bacon, eggs, sausage, pastries, and waffles. The shuttle to the airport leaves every 30 minutes and can be reserved in advance. This hotel is also a short walk from the MAX lightrail station which will take you to the airport or downtown pretty quickly for just a few dollars.

It is a well kept facility, very clean and comfortable rooms and surroundings. Well lot parking area and enough spaces to accomodate guests. They lock the front doors after 9:00 pm and all the exterior doors lock as well. I like the security of knowing not everyone can just walk through the doors. Front desk staff were amazing and very welcoming and helpful during the stay. They had plenty of luggage carts to move bags and belongings from car to room.

Great breakfast spread. try the waffle with gravy on top!! And there's a courtesy shuttle to pick you up! Just make sure you call the front desk so they can send the shuttle out. They don't come around the clock. The pool was closed when we went (April) and idk if the hot tub was open. Ubers picked us up easy and beds were very comfortable and wide. Also all the bed pillows are square! I've never seen this before but it was still comfortable.

Juliana

Bed was comfortable and good water pressure in the shower. Liked having fridge and microwave in room, good number of hangars, and electrical sockets on the bedside lamp bases. Appreciated the cold water dispenser in communal area and that hot breakfast was included. Staff was nice. There’s a small pool and hot tub in central inner courtyard that looked nice, but we didn’t use.
